India: Change the name of an Islamic city to correct the error centuries old!

A city in one of India's most populous states plans to change its Islamic name to another Hindu, with the Bharatiya Janata Party government trying to "correct a mistake" committed by the Mongol rulers.
A source from the ruling party in the state that the city of "Godabad" in the state of "Uttar Pradesh" North, will change its name to become "Biagraj."

The move comes after years of pressure to change the name to Praiaj, a Sanskrit word meaning the place of sacrifice, which symbolizes Hindu belief that the creator of the universe made his first sacrifice in the city at the junction of the rivers Jang and Yamuna.
The name change was announced during a meeting of the Council of Ministers prior to the planned pilgrimage in the area, in January 2019.

Lately I have traveled to frequently. The city is in shambles, desperately needs better roads and infrastructure especially given the fact that the is barely 3 months away. Shouldn’t that be priority over name changes? @myogiadityanath
Energy Minister Sherikant Sharm said the change in the name of "Godabad" was unlikely to be the only one. "The government has the right to rename any city, and if necessary, we will rename more cities and roads, and the mistakes made earlier will be corrected," he said.

What priority. These two are different issues and not alternative options.

And yes both are equally important.

The announcement sparked mixed reactions on Twitter, with some locals hailing the move, while others refused to give up the name of Allahabad, where some suggested there might already be more pressing issues than changing the name of the city.

This change aims to erase the hints of the city's historic rule during the reign of the Muslim Mughal rulers, in addition to the area called "Godabad" by the Muslim emperor the largest in 1583.
