In the 2030s, nations are planning to host the World Cup finals by presenting joint files, most recently four Balkan countries.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov announced Friday that Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Romania are considering a joint bid for the 2030 World Cup.
"I think we should consider the proposal of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras," Borisov told a joint news conference following a four-

nation summit between Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Serbia in the Black Sea city of Varna.
Tsebras said the four countries were considering bidding to host a major sporting event within 10 years.
"Just as Bulgaria and Italy hosted the World Volleyball Championships in September, the four countries - Serbia, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria - can bid for the 2030 World Cup," he said.
None of the Balkans ever organized the World Cup, and Yugoslavia hosted before the collapse of the 1991 European Nations Cup in 1976.
Morocco, which has fought five unsuccessful attempts to win the right to host the World Cup, including 2026, said it would also seek to organize the 2030 version. Algeria and Tunisia are also considering joining it to make a joint presentation on North Africa.
The FA announced its intention to conduct a feasibility study for a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup with Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The Irish Football Association said it would study the matter with them.
South America has unveiled a tripartite package involving Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay to host the 2030 World Cup, which will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup in Uruguay in 1930.
Qatar is due to host the 2022 World Cup finals, while the United States, Mexico and Canada have won the 2026 World Cup.
