China released a short animation film in which it mocked the United States' handling of the Corona virus crisis, and in it it used symbols similar to plastic cubes to embody the two countries.
Washington and Beijing are locked in a war of words over the origin of the disease, which first appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan and then turned into a global pandemic.
And US President Donald Trump said that he was confident that the Corona virus originated in a Chinese virology laboratory, but he did not provide evidence of this.
In the animated film published by the Xinhua News Agency, a red curtain opens to reveal a platform with symbols similar to plastic cubes in the form of a terracotta army warrior wearing a muzzle and the statue of liberty.
"We have discovered a new virus," the warrior says, "and the Statue of Liberty replies," So what? It's just influenza. "
Then the warrior issues warnings of the virus and counts the most prominent achievements made by China in combating the outbreak, so the statue replies with a kind of denial, while the sounds of Trump's press conferences in which he reduced the severity of the disease.
"Do you listen to yourself?" The warrior asks the statue, which has begun to turn red and develop a fever. "We are always right even if we contradict ourselves," he replies.
The United States and other countries accuse China of misleading the world about the severity of the outbreak, and calls have increased for an international investigation to find out the origin of the virus.
In an interview with Reuters, Trump said he believed that China's handling of the Corona pandemic is evidence that Beijing will "do everything it can" to lose the elections scheduled for next November.
