An American study on the richest people in the country revealed that the wealth of eight of them recorded an increase of 238 billion dollars in less than a month due to the Corona virus.
Top of the list of those beneficiaries is billionaire Jeff Bezos, owner of the Washington Post and founder of Amazon, who has grown fortune due to online shipping, with $ 25 billion in January and 12 billion in February.
The surge in Bezos' fortune is due to the huge gains made by Amazon, the tech and retail giant, after customer demand increased due to lockdown measures and people were forced to stay home.
The Netflix platform also benefited from the shutdown and people stayed at home, increasing the number of its subscribers by 16 million within one month, and one of its series, TIGER KING, achieved a record viewership of 64 million viewers.
But these numbers do not hide the fact that about four million Americans filed for unemployment benefits in a week, and about 22 million lost their jobs due to the Corona epidemic.
