Don't Resist (2016) is an angry documentary about the militarization of US police after arming them with tanks, rocket launchers and flamethrowers, even in non-criminal societies.

This trend began in earnest in the 1970s when police departments responded to increased civil unrest and street crime, by creating police tactical units and a school of war tactics, armed with automatic rifles.

The wave of police militarization escalated after the attacks of September 11, 2001, and fear of terrorism led to the establishment of a Ministry of Internal Security and the building of a large number of police stations even in small cities that did not espouse violence.

The film explores the accumulation of weapons in police stations, and how hate speech was pumped between police personnel and the people, until civilians were referred to as the enemy.
The film also shows police violence towards protests, and instead of reinforcing the societal feeling that the police are to protect and serve the community, we find that what is actually happening is that the police represent a fascist threat factor against opposition forces.
