British police said they had detained 45 people after clashes between fans and law enforcement officials at Wembley Stadium, which hosted the Euro 2020 final between Italy and England.
London police said, on Sunday evening, in a tweet via "Twitter": "We carried out 45 arrests while carrying out policing tasks during the European Championship final today."
The tweet added: "A number of police officers remain on duty helping fans to leave Wembley or central London."
The match ended with Italy's victory over England in the tournament on penalties, and limited disturbances began near Wembley before the match, especially after a group of fans tried to infiltrate the stadium precincts, to resume limited riots in the streets of London after the loss of the England team.
Activists on social media also published video clips showing England fans attacking Italian fans.
